The domain

Founded by Etienne Guigal in 1946, the estate, one of the most renowned in the region, is located in Ampuis, the cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation in the Rhône Valley. His son, Marcel Guigal, took over in 1961, some 20 years later. In order to strengthen the company's development, his wife Bernadette joined the business.

The wine

This wine is powerful and tannic, with a remarkable aromatic bouquet of white pepper, saltiness, damp earth and black fruits. Its medium-bodied, fresh and straight style is matched by a nice concentration and high but integrated acidity.
