The domain

In the 1950s, Roger Burgaud divided his time between working in the factory and on the farm. Passionate about wine and vineyard work, he bought and replanted some very fine plots of land in the prestigious Côte-Rôtie region. In 1980, Bernard, the founder, finally settled down and reoriented the family farm towards wine production. Domaine Burgaud was born, with this generation of winegrowers embodying the revival of the Côte-Rôtie. When others were concentrating on expansionist and marketing trends, Bernard directed his energy towards mastering his know-how and continuing the quality of his production. In 2020, Pierre, his son, took over the estate.

The wine

A very nicely structured wine, as is often the case in the Rhône Valley. Made from 100% Syrah, the spicy aromas come through on the nose.
