The domain

On 24 hectares dedicated to the noble Chenin, Domaine Belargus produces biodynamic wines on the most beautiful terroirs of Anjou Noir. Ivan Massonnat bought this property in 2018 from Isabelle and Jo Pithon. The latter, however, continues to advise and bring his experience to the teams on the terroirs of Anjou, Coteaux-du-Layon, Quarts-de-Chaume and Savennières cultivated by this estate, which took the name Belargus, after the butterfly present in the vines.

The wine

A bouquet blending aromas of white flowers and white fruits opens to a delicate, enveloping-textured palate that seduces with its characteristic expression of schist soils: a marked acidity and a fine bitterness on the finish. This 2018 Gaudrets from Domaine Belargus is an ideal accompaniment to shellfish, fish dishes or pressed cheeses.
