Château La Brande, in Saillans, Gironde, France, consists of 18 hectares of clay and limestone land, 7 of which are AOP Fronsac and 11 AOP Bordeaux Supérieur. Benoît Soulies, after having rowed across the Atlantic in 2012, and his wife, Maud, have taken over this domain, which has been established since 1730. The terroir, on south-facing hills, produces wines, organic since 2012, which received their first gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris in 1906.
