Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley, born in the village of Nuits and a craftsman until his passion for wine led him to create the house "Joseph Faiveley". Joseph Faiveley, his son, was a visionary. He began to export his wines to Northern Europe, particularly to Belgium and the Netherlands, and left a solid and timeless foundation for Domaine Faiveley. Following in the footsteps of his forefathers, François Faiveley produced rich and concentrated wines from the moment he joined the estate in 1976, which are recognised as genuine wines for laying down. A lover of classical music, it was under his impetus that Domaine Faiveley became a founding member of the famous Music & Wine Festival at Clos Vougeot in 2007. Today, it is his son, Erwan, and Eve, the first daughter in seven generations, who are responsible for the production of great terroir wines, inspired by a know-how that has been passed down for almost two centuries. Together, they are committed to preserving this magnificent heritage and passing it on to future generations.
"Cazetiers" may come from "Castel", the parcel above the Château de Gevrey. The nose reveals a complex aromatic bouquet of red fruits swirling between flowers (violet and rose), spices and undergrowth.
